Celebrities Step in When Amazon’s Alexa Calls in Sick

According to Google estimates, by 2020 half of all searches will be voice-based. Whether you use Apple’s Siri, Google Home, Amazon’s Alexa or all of them, one thing is for sure – they’re set to play a big part in our lives.

AI voice-powered technology is getting more sophisticated, placing even more importance on long-tail keywords. Even businesses are finding unique uses for virtual voice assistants to assist and attract customers.

Voice-powered devices could change the way we interact with consumers.

For example, Alexa is realtor Tristan Ahumada’s sidekick at open houses. When visitors arrive to the open house, Ahumada hands them a brochure with photos of the home along with a list of questions they are welcome to ask Alexa. Ahumada has found that using a voice-activated device equipped with artificial intelligence at open houses is a simple way to stand out and be more memorable to potential clients. He also commands Alexa to play soft music in the background when welcoming buyers. Ingenious!

But what happens when Alexa—the voice assistant on Amazon’s Echo products, loses her voice? Amazon rolled out its 90-minute Super Bowl spot which turned out to be one of the most entertaining and memorable spots.

It just goes to show how consumers have embraced voice assistants to enhance their lives, and are even dependant on them.

Using a host of celebrities to fill in for Alexa, this ad puts an entertaining spin on their popular product, making it even more desirable. It’s like having a knowledgeable friend at home or work who has the answer to everything. People aren’t just talking to it, they’re also talking about it thanks to this spot.
