Chances are you’ve seen wordles before, but just didn’t know it. This is what a Wordle looks like… Wordle is a website that generates “word clouds” from any text you enter. You can enter words, phrases and sentences and the “Wordles” will appear with everything you’ve entered. The words used the most often will appear larger and more prominently inside the Wordle.
The image above is the Wordle we created for the Ultimate Edge Communications Blog. We wanted to check how our blog was doing. i.e. Were we communicating our message effectively? So we entered our blog URL straight into Wordle and … Voilà – this is what we got. Were we happy with this result? Heck YES!
Why? Because the words most used are MEDIA, ADVERTISING, BUSINESS & CONNECTED. Being a MEDIA agency helping businesses CONNECT with their audience more effectively, this result is spot on!
So WHY should you use it?
Well, there are MANY reasons it might be a good idea for you so here is an example of how it was used in the 2008 US Presidential campaign! They used it to show which words were most commonly associated with the candidates! Great idea right?!
