This ad by Foxtel makes light of the terror of date night in a wonderful way. The ad portrays a man experiencing an anxiousness anyone can relate to, while also leveraging the popularity of HBO’s smash hit Game of Thrones.

The charm of this ad lies in the role they’ve given their product in a relatable story. Nobody needs to be sold on the enjoyment of watching a TV show, however, Foxtel have brilliantly reframed their service as the hero in an urgent, albeit light-hearted situation.

The story is unexpected, new, humorous and relatable.
